The Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program is seeking volunteers to participate in an online survey about their experiences in a breast cancer support group.
“The purpose of this study is to better understand the long-term benefits as identified by 
participants in breast cancer support groups,” says Erin Nau, LCSW, who is conducting the survey with the Breast Cancer Program’s director Hillary Rutter, LCSW. The survey will identify common reasons for attending a support group, their identified benefits, overall experiences and the long-term impact on their survivorship. “Identifying these factors will allow breast cancer agencies to plan and facilitate more sustainable support groups,” says Rutter.
Anyone that is over the age of 18 and has ever been part of a breast cancer support group, past or present, may participate. All information is confidential. The survey should take five to ten minutes.
