Júlio Padovan was born in Brazil and has been studying spiritism since the age of 15. He holds Ph.D. degrees in biochemistry and molecular biology from the School of Medicine of São Paulo/University of São Paulo, Brazil. He moved to the U.S. at the invitation of professor Brian Chait to work at the Laboratory for Mass Spectrometry and Gaseous Ion Chemistry at The Rockefeller University, in NYC.
Padovan believes pride and guilt are the two most destructive forces at work in the human psyche. They are often feeding each other, and from each other, these forces flank us in our daily struggles toward personal improvement. Pride usually attacks prior to an event and guilt exercises its influence afterward. On Sunday, August 28, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Padovon will be giving a lecture at the Long Island Spiritist Doctrine Study Group, in Bohemia. This lecture combines the concepts of two presentations from a series of lectures on the forces at work in our spiritual core, and it will address a few important questions, such as what pride and guilt actually are.
