yogaA Restorative Yoga Teacher Training—led by Leah Hartofelis, ERYT 500, owner of Breathe N Flow Yoga studio, and instructor Jamie Henderson—will be held Friday, April 8, through Sunday, April 10, at Breathe N Flow, located at 361 Atlantic Avenue, in Freeport. This training is open to yoga teachers, body therapists and experienced restorative yoga students.

Restorative yoga focuses on relaxing the body and mind in restful postures. This is a gentle, therapeutic style of yoga that uses props, such as blankets, blocks, bolsters and straps, to fully support the body to deepen the benefits of the poses. This practice allows the body to fully relax by holding simple postures passively for extended periods of time.

In this teacher training, Hartofelis and Henderson will break down each pose. Trainees will have the opportunity to practice teach all postures, and will learn relaxation techniques, breathing exercises, pose modifications and gentle hands-on adjustments used to enhance the restorative yoga experience.

Additional features of this training include the uses and benefits of essential oils in yoga and how to modify postures and set up poses using a limited amount of props.

Cost: $395, with early registration incentive of $350 by March 8. Times: Friday, 6:30-9 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. For more information, call 516-632-9626 or visit bnfYoga.com.
