For nearly 24 years, the Yoga & Polarity Center sought to bring the community the best of what yoga offers the world. Opening their doors in 1995 with only 10 classes a week taught by Heather Principe, throughout their history—which includes 200- to 500-hour trainings, and yoga therapy and polarity therapy at the board certified level—they have dedicated their energy to building the awareness of yoga and all its principles.
When Principe decided that this would be her final year as the founder/leader of the Yoga & Polarity Center community, she decided to realign with another like-minded Long Island studio. Months of observing and listening led her to the Yoga Nanda family of studios, headed by Cara Stone. In Principe’s own words: “The more I listened, the more I could hear a resonance of intention, a deep core like-mindedness of yoga. And so, I approached Cara to come in and make Yoga & Polarity Center part of the Yoga Nanda community. I am not leaving—we are just getting bigger and better. Continuing in service, I remain.”
On June 1, Yoga & Polarity Center will become the third point of a new Nanda trilogy. There will be a celebration of this “perfect union” on Wednesday, June 13, beginning at 6:30 p.m., at the Yoga & Polarity Center, located at 32 Church Street, in Malverne.
