During the summer, moms love to take yoga classes and participate in various activities
together with their children in a natural and healthy way. Yoga is a perfect way to bond. This summer, Harmony Yoga & Dance Healing Arts Center, in Wantagh, will focus on the practice of integrated yoga, exercise and singing in the Mom & Me classes, which start June 5. Harmony Yoga is also planning to host family yoga classes, including Mom & Baby Yoga, Family Yoga and Teen Yoga for the summer months. “One mom and her daughter had taken family yoga together when she was 3 years old,” says Mariko Fusillo, owner of the center. “They now want to come to the adult yoga classes together now that the daughter is in high school.” Fusillo relates another example: “A mom and three children have come to family yoga every year since her first son was in her tummy. He is now 11 years old and is still joining his mother in yoga class. It is such an accomplishing feeling that we made a difference in their lives, and I feel honored that they continue to practice with us.”
