Midlife—OPPORTUNITY, not CRISIS

New Year’s brings a feeling of contemplation to most. Contemplating on the past and the future simultaneously can be somewhat daunting. Many look back on their lives and say, “I wish I had done this or that.” Some look forward without the clarity of what they can be. This year, Linda Rose, LCSW, wants to help you address that with her 10-week group session for women in their 40s to 60s, Midlife—OPPORTUNITY, not CRISIS. The group will be small and will offer a space to talk about midlife as an opportunity, a second adulthood.

“Adolescence is a time of growth and change,” explains Rose. “This second adulthood should be the same.” The group is designed to foster this experience, with the first week focused on what your own thoughts about midlife are. Some of the weekly topics include health, sex, passion, goals, friendships and career. During the last few weeks, a plan for the midlife is created. “It’s about taking this journey together; seeing others’ past and future plans, and then doing what’s right for you.” The goal for this group is to help you view this time in your life as a tremendous opportunity, create friends and plan for your “second act.”
