Setting New Year’s resolutions is a widely popular cultural phenomenon. And, although these commitments are made with the best of intentions, we may feel dejected if our resolve alone isn’t enough to create lasting transformation. In Sanskrit, samskaras are the deeply rooted patterns of being and thinking that can be shifted through illumination and practice.
This Vinyasa-flow based workshop is designed to help the practitioner understand the patterns, habits and cultural forces that may hinder growth and change both on and off the mat. We will examine and practice some of the more popular asana and transitions found in Vinyasa classes, with an emphasis on shifting the physical and mental habits that lead to injury and stagnation. In the flow, we will work on new alignment patterns and expanding consciousness to give us a safer, stronger and more satisfying practice for true self-transformation.
