The last 17 years for Dale Cook have been busy. In that time, she has been a midwife to 1,200 babies. 
Half of those babies were delivered at home. This September will mark the end of that specific journey for Cook as she retires. When asked what was so amazing about being a midwife to all those babies, Cook responded: “There is a special excitement when you help support a woman in this amazing experience. I will miss those moments for sure.” Cook says she is looking forward to being off call and not having to carry her phone with her 24-7 and spending time with her “honey,” whom she has been married to for 46 years.
Natural Awakenings Long Island has had a special relationship with Cook and has been a partner in her business for upwards of eight years. Cook cites meeting many mothers via advertising with Natural Awakenings. As a long-time partner, we are sad to see our friend go but are excited to know she will be traveling to see family (her oldest son finishes his medical training in Seattle next year) and enjoying some extra time with her 91-year-old mom in Florida.
