Planting Their Roots on Long Island

TheRoots_Local_2-1The Paramount, in downtown Huntington, is thrilled to announce The Roots on December 26 at 8 p.m. Recognized for being the official house band on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Roots have performed with artists from Bruce Springsteen to Prince. Now Huntington will have a chance to see them live just in time for the holiday season.

Rolling Stone magazine claims, “The Roots may not have technically been the first live band in hip-hop, but hands down, they’re the greatest.” The Roots have been nominated for 12 Grammys, winning four, including Best R&B Album, Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance and Best Group or Duo R&B Vocal Performance. Their latest album, And Then You Shoot Your Cousin, released in May, marked their 11th studio album.

For nearly 30 years, The Roots have remained one of the biggest names in the music industry. The Roots have continued to reinvent themselves and have successfully broken the generational barricade becoming a household name. The legendary crew have become a staple on The Tonight Show, reaching more than a million people nationwide per night.
