Although research has shown that support groups can be extremely helpful to women coping with breast 
cancer, sometimes it is not possible for a woman to travel to a group. To help, the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Program has established an online group for women under the age of 40. This group meets on Tuesdays at 6 p.m.
Says social worker Erin Nau: “This online group makes it possible for a woman no matter where she is located in New York State to come together with other young women coping with breast cancer, whether she is in a rural area where there are no groups, in a hospital, or at home or work. All she needs is a cell phone to be part of the group.”
