National Plug-In Day is September 28th, a nationwide celebration to heighten awareness of today's widespread availability of plug-in vehicles and highlights the benefits of all-electric and plug-in hybrid-electric cars, trucks, motorcycles, and more. Free event sponsored by 3 non-profit organizations, The Electric Auto Association, Sierra Club, and Plug in America.
A large event is planned for LI taking place at the Melville Mall. The event will be led by local plug-in drivers, advocates, EV displays, ride-and-drives, press conferences, informational booths, food provided by plug-in food trucks and much more. Power is provided by solar and battery systems free of fossil fuel. Some power provide by veggie oil powered generators.
