Food and Water Watch, Slow Food Huntington and iEat Green are sponsoring the Long Island premiere of the documentary film, Dear Governor Cuomo, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. on February 12 at The Cinema Arts Centre, in Huntington.
Under the musical direction of Natalie Merchant, this movie was filmed by Academy Award-winning documentarian Alex Gibney and features actors Mark Ruffalo and Melissa Leo, environmental biologist Sandra Steingraber and musicians ranging from Joan Osborne and Citizen Cope to Medeski Martin and Wood and The Felice Brothers. Written and directed by Jon Bowermaster, the film features a coalition of musicians, scientists and activists gathered in Albany on the governor’s front doorstep, calling for a ban on hydraulic fracturing.
