The American Chronic Pain Association (ACPA) has formed a new support group for those living in Nassau County. The group leader is Cynthia Johnson, who has been dealing with chronic back pain for many years. Support from her friends and family has been a big part of Johnson’s lengthy journey to pain alleviation, and she wants nothing more than to provide that same support to others dealing with chronic pain in the community.
There will be two meetings this month, Wednesday April 16th and Wednesday April 30th from 4 to 5:30 pm. Refreshments will be served.
The ACPA is a nonprofit self-help group designed to teach people that suffer from chronic pain—pain that continues longer than six months and is not completely relieved by medication or medical treatment—to reduce the impact pain has on their working and personal lives.
Location: Metro Physical & Aquatic Therapy, 800 East Gate Blvd., Garden City. For more information, call Cynthia Johnson at 516-304-9297.
